Today’s list is gonna get you into the culture of Japan. These series are in a way that you will never forget. Whether it is the setting or the characters, everything about it is awesome.
We have been talking about harem all along in our previous lists; what if we talk about reverse harem today? Well, I think it’s pretty cool because this time around, male characters are all over our leading female characters. We are going to have some great adventures concerning the way the Japanese value their shrines.
There is also a touch of supernatural and fantasy which is something to spice up our series. You are going to realize that not only humans can be in a relationship, but both humans and supernatural beings as well. When it comes to romance, let me not say much; you are going to witness it yourself.
However, some of the romantic scenes are somehow creepy because, at some point, it’s a human and a supernatural being; if you know, you know. Without wasting much of your time, let’s get into business.
1. Kami-Chu! The Goddess Is A Middle School Student
Imagine being a goddess, and you have a crush on a certain man, but the man does not even know if you exist. This must be awful, you know. Well, Yurie Hitotsubashi is a highschool student who is focused on how she is going to excel in her exams.
This was not the only thing that she was thinking about, but she was also having a crush on Kenji. She is someone who is known around her school and she is from Onomichi, a coastal city of Japan. Now, there is a situation from when she transformed into a goddess.
She now has a lot on her shoulders. As a goddess she has to protect her people and pay attention to their prayers as well. The worst part is that she still has to live like a human and attend classes.
Yurie still has an incomplete mission, which is to get Kenji. On the other hand, Matsuri wants to use Yurie as a way of getting people to his family shrine. Do you think Yurie will be able to do all this by herself?
2. Princess Tutu
The same heart that was long back used as a way to conceal the Raven’s Nest will be going to return. The only way Ahiru can be able to find her favourite prince is by transforming into Princess Tutu.
Tutu is Ahiru’s child and she lives in a world of fantasy where magic oozes. Note that Princess Tutu’s ballet dance is not just a dance but something that can relieve stress and cool you down. Some girls have strangely come out from some pages of a novel. What are their intentions?
3. Natsume’s Book Of Friends
Through Takashi Natsume that’s when you can see that the supernatural has no age. Since he was very young, he used to see ghosts, aka the youkai. This anime series is derived from a manga of the same name. He got a book from his grandmother as an inheritance, and in that book, there were names of youkai that she had held captive.
His being the bearer of this book has given him the power to control the youkai captured. Despite having power over these youkai he doesn’t intend to harm or do anything bad to them.
He is a boy with no friends, and his only companion is Madara, who is not even a human. Takashi protects this very small creature from other big and bully youkai.
4. Into The Forest Of Fireflies’ Light
This series consists of a rare tale that has captured the hearts of many anime fans. It has a setting of a serene rural setting, and just like the fireflies’ light, it sparkles with fantasy. This series is one of the series you will never want to end because it’s an amazing one.
Imagine being forgotten in a forest where spirits wander all day and night. After Gin helped Hotaru find her way back home, he told her never to return again, but it did not go like that. Hotaru kept coming to see Gin despite growing up into a big and old beautiful lady.
Later, the two started developing feelings for each other and fell in love. But will the two be able to keep their relationship due to their differences?
5. Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne
Just like the leading character, Nanami, in Kamikaze, Jeanne appears to be a typical human being. But is she a human being, or is there something else behind it? Well, she is not just a middle elementary school student but definitely Jeanne Arce’s reincarnation.
The moment she learned about it, she went on a quest to destroy evil for good and angelic artwork. Her abandonment by her parents did not stop her from doing what she wanted to do. She could see and talk to supernatural beings as well.
6. ABCs Of Love
Despite Inari Fushimi being an introvert and having some abilities, she still cares for people around her. Inari never gets tired of helping others as long as she can. She is also not bad at her studies; she just keeps everything on average. Inari was taking a shorter way to school when she helped a fox cross a river.
This is when the goddess was impressed with her tenderness and granted her wish. With the complexity of things by then, the goddess had to let her be anything she wanted. If it means changing her form or shape, everything is now possible.
Inari is now after impressing the person she loves. This is not easy, though, because she has to face her fears first, which are other supernatural beings.
7. Gingitsune: Messenger Fox Of The Gods
The most interesting thing about this series is that it is simple, it is not complex. Just like other series on this list, it also consists of some supernatural beings in the human world. Two friends, Kintaro and Makoto, are fond of helping others in any way they can.
This might be the reason why Makoto became the agent of the gods. He appears to be the one who is fortunate enough to be their messenger in the world of the living. Using his ghost frogs, he takes care of the Inari Temple, which is located in Eda.
8. Snow White With Red Hair
Have you ever imagined how it feels to attract someone’s attention that you don’t want at all? Well, this is what happened to Shirayuki. I guess her unique red hair attracted the prince of her kingdom, and she had to run away. The prince of Tanbarun wanted her to be like one of his side chicks but she was not interested at all.
She had to reject the offer and run away to another kingdom, where she meets Zed, the prince of Clarines. The prince was suffering because he had been poisoned by an apple that was supposed to poison Shirayuki.
Note that Shirayuki was an herbalist, and she could save the prince with the knowledge of her profession. The prince of Clarines later started helping her to make her dream come true.
9. Ookami Shoujo To Kuro Ouji
It takes only one wrong move to cost you something that you won’t be able to recover from. The only mistake that Erika Shinohara made was to be part of a certain good-looking girl’s pictures. She had to go through some betrayals and lies surrounding her.

10. Stray God
Despite Yato being a nice God there to help his people, it’s as good as no one knows him. He even tried to spread the word by himself that he helps, but it seems like no one cares to know. Yato had a contact number that anyone could call at any time and be helped.
His assistant came to a point where she got tired of his mistakes at work and decided to ditch him. His work is not highly paid; it’s just a little money. Later on, Hiyori, a certain girl, saved Yato from an accident, which caused her soul’s departure from her body.

11. Inu X Boku S.S.
The series revolves around the life of Ririchiyo Shirakiin, a high school student. She is just 15 years old, and she is a spoiled brat; she can’t do anything for herself. She had to move out of her comfort to change from such a life and surroundings. Little did she know that a lot awaited her in her new residence.
After some time of staying there, she learned that every human in that residence was not a human. I know you are starting to ask yourself, what was it then? 12. Fruits Basket

13. Kaichou Wa Maid Sama
You all agree that Misaki Ayuzawa deserves the title “Demon President”. Since she was appointed president of the student council, her ways of upholding discipline were outstanding. This girl is a student always looked up to by her fellow student council members.
There is something about this girl that is far beyond what people and she has managed to keep it a secret till one day. Who would have ever thought of this girl working in a cafe after school to earn a living? Absolutely no one? This was till a new boy who had just come to this school found her in the cafe.

16. InuYasha
Whenever a demon overpowers its host, nothing can be done that will be the host’s wish but the demon inside the host. A female character in this series got teleported into the future. 500 years ahead, and in that world, she had to invent something known as a wish-granting diamond.
Now, here comes the problem: the demons also want this thing. It later broke during a certain fight with a demon, and now a couple is hunting for this jewel’s remains. Do you think they will be able to find it? In case they find it, what will they use it for?
17. Ouran High School Host Club
Sometimes we join certain groups or clubs not because we want to, but situations compel us to do so most of the time. Haruhi has just come to this school, and all she cares about is excelling well; the rest, she is not interested. After breaking a vase that was so expensive by accident, she was seen by a member of the Host Club.
